OnStage Display Samples! A Mixed Bag

Today I am sharing the last of my OnStage display samples. (I keep typing "Stamples" - is that a thing?) I only made a few "sets" of cards and those have been shared so the rest are kind of one-off's featuring different new toys.

The first card I am sharing features our new (returning) Glossy Card Stock! I did some research as I have never worked with glossy cardstock personally, so I needed some ideas! I found some that I will definitely try later, but after destroying 2 full sheets with failed experiments, I settled on this Versamark resist technique. I stamped the paisleys onto the card stock with Versamark ink, then sponged Tempting Turquoise and Pear Pizzazz over it. No embossing, although that is another resist effect you can certainly do with this paper. Secret time! On the back of the Tempting Turquoise layer is another panel almost exactly like this that I realized was pretty much ruined. I hadn't been super careful and there were fingerprints and extra ghosted images of the stamps all over! Word to the wise, don't handle this with your fingers during the process! It will be a mess! An option is to make sure your fingers get clean. I keep baby wipes in my craft room for quick cleanups.

This card features the Lift Me Up bundle, along with NEW Peekaboo Peach striped grosgrain ribbon and the Ticket Border Punch. Fairly straightforward. I like the way the layers of the balloon mirror the stripes in the ribbon.

I used the fun new Corrugated Embellishments tags to make a tiny Baby banner! The stamping around the frame of the card is all Timeless Textures. I also featured the Powder Pink In Color card stock and ink.

One of my roommates made cute pillow gifts! Check it out! Anything chocolate is automatically a winner in my book.

Thanks for coming along and checking out my samples! They were really fun to make and it was an honor to be able to make them.

New Catalog Open House Tonight!

Hi! I'm hosting a new catalog open house at my home tonight. I've been working feverishly on samples using my new toys, and there will be fun make and takes to give the new stuff a run, including the Blendabilities markers. Plus, I'm making a batch of my Baba's iced tea! If you're in town, drop on by!

Here's a quick phone shot I grabbed this morning on my way put the door of the table featuring items I've made using new stuff!

I'd love to see your shiny, happy face!

Club shenanigans

By popular request, I am posting some recent lovelies I made for fun along with the cards we made at our hostess club this week.

First, I made a set of 12 cards as inspired by a post about One Sheet Wonder cards at Operation Write Home. I enjoy the kind you make with lots of funky cuts, but sometimes the stripped-down approach makes the most sense. I did the option of cutting a 12x12 sheet of designer paper into 12, 4x3 rectangles, using Eastern Elegance. I dressed up each card differently using Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry ribbon, the Decorative Label, Scallop Trim, Itty Bitty Punch Pack, and Boho Blossoms punches, Hello Lovely and Happy Day stamp sets, and Basic Black and Smoky Slate solid card stock. A tip on the card stock - 2 sheets of 8.5x11 trim down to make 6- 4.25x3.25 mats of each sheet. It's a great way to use up DSP and stretch supplies at the same time. Weird. Here they are, in no particular order:

For club, I revised the design using Sweet Essentials, the Spiral Flowers die, and Venetian Romance paper with mats of Soft Suede and Tangerine Tango.

Here's the other club card - a simple valentine using a hand made stacked embellishment. I have seen a lot of these in the store and thought it would be even better if I made it myself! I also made one with the Bitty Butterfly and different papers. Any small punch would do. The sentiment is from Express Yourself. I've gotten a lot of mileage out of this fun hostess set.

I also showed our group a couple of simple cards I had made with new sets from the Occasions catalog, but had deemed not quite right for club night since one is too simple and we didn't have enough candy dots to go around, and the other was a LOT of watercolor but really not too bad for time, at least when I made it I didn't feel it took an excessive amount of time to complete.

Spiral Spins, Sweet Essentials, and Candy Dots

So Very Grateful and many ink pads, using Blender Pen to color

I'm being summoned to watch a baby in the bath! Have a great night!
